Bitmap Icons

Displaying detail in a set of icons, using only bitmap, was challenging. Through the process, I ended up creating an unexpected image of ornithology. I chose to focus on birds that are unique in a way so they could be identified in a set without much detail. When doing research on all these different bird types, I noticed the way to tell most birds apart is by their beak. That influenced my choice to zoom in on the head of each bird so that each bird can be as recognizable as possible and defined as an icon.
